Hannah Lister is an artist living and working between London and the Northwest of England. She has been photographing people and their environments since her childhood. Working with analogue methods, as well as using archival images and film, she has extensive experience with the medium, in its artistic and domestic forms, from fine prints to family snapshots.

Her work can be underpinned by its repeated motifs (family members, sleeping figures, sacred sites, everyday yet symbolic objects), as well as her embracing of potential flaws in the analogue process. Through careful editing, composition and attention to light and texture, she creates direct and tactile works that connect through the mystery of what is.
